Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide safe, high-quality care and connect the right people.

Care seekers

When you enquire about or book care services we collect your name, contact details, address, and information about the care recipient's needs, medical history (where relevant), and household requirements. This information is necessary to match you with a suitable care provider.

Care providers

When you apply to join our network we collect your name, contact details, professional qualifications, references, DBS/background check consent, and availability. This information is required to assess your suitability and connect you with families who need your skills.

Website visitors

We automatically collect standard server-log data when you browse our website: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used solely for security and to improve the site. It cannot identify you individually.

02

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to deliver and improve our services — nothing more.

Matching and placement

We use your information to identify appropriate care arrangements, share relevant details with the matched party (care seeker or care provider), and facilitate introductions between families and carers.

Communication

We use your contact details to respond to your enquiries, send booking confirmations, share updates relevant to your care arrangement, and — with your consent — send our newsletter or service updates.

Safety and compliance

We process background-check information, qualifications, and references to verify that care providers meet our standards and applicable legal requirements.

Service improvement

Aggregated, anonymised data helps us understand how our service is used and where it can be improved. This data cannot identify you.

03

Sharing Your Information

We share your data only when needed to deliver our service or when required by law.

Matched party

When a care match is arranged, we share relevant contact and care-requirement details with the care provider or care seeker on the other side of that arrangement. We will tell you what will be shared before it is shared.

Background-check providers

Care provider applications are processed by accredited background-check organisations. These providers act as data processors on our behalf under strict contractual safeguards.

Trusted service providers

We use a small number of trusted SaaS tools for email, scheduling, and analytics. All operate under data-processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Legal obligations

We may disclose personal data to regulators, law enforcement, or courts when required to do so by applicable law, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a vulnerable person.

We never sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial or marketing purposes.

04

Data Security

Protecting sensitive care information is a responsibility we take seriously.

Technical safeguards

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis, and our systems are subject to regular security reviews.

Sensitive data

Health and care-need information is classified as sensitive data. It is stored separately with additional access controls and processed only by staff with a legitimate need.

Retention

Care seeker and care provider data is retained for the duration of the relationship plus five years, as required by care-sector regulations. Website visitor log data is deleted after 12 months. You may request earlier deletion where we have no legal obligation to retain the data.

05

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection law you have the following rights.

Access

You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request). We will respond within one calendar month.

Rectification

You may ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold.

Erasure

You may ask us to delete your personal data where we have no legal obligation or overriding legitimate interest to retain it.

Restriction and objection

You may ask us to restrict processing of your data, or object to processing where it is based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Portability

Where technically feasible you may receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

06

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies to keep the site working correctly.

Strictly necessary

Session cookies required for basic site functionality (e.g. remembering your form progress). These cannot be disabled without breaking core features.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics software to understand how visitors use our site. Where we do, IP addresses are anonymised and data is never shared with advertising networks.

No advertising cookies

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking.
